Analyst, Business Continuity Management

 

Provide support for delivery of the organizational BCM Framework and Program to AIA Singapore. This includes assisting Business Units with developing and reviewing their BCM documentations, conducting training and exercises to enhance staff awareness of BCP, as well as preparing reports for management updates and audit responses, amongst others.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

 

1. Coordinate periodic review and updates to Business Continuity and IT Disaster Recovery documentations
Specific Responsibilities:

 

  • Maintain and update the Corporate BCM Framework documents, including the BCM Terms of Reference, BCM Policy and BCM Governance on an annual basis or as and when there are material changes to the organization
  • Conduct annual Risk Assessment to identify potential threats in the operating environment and the business disruption risks of highest concern
  • Perform annual Business Impact Analysis exercise for all business units
  • Facilitate business units’ annual update of BCP documentations, which include the Major Operational Disruptions BCPs, Pandemic Response Plans and Heightened Security Plan, and ensure that business units document the recovery strategies of their business functions in the plans
  • Work with BCM Support Units, i.e. Real Estate and Technology, to maintain recovery seating arrangements in the alternate worksite based on updated seating requirements from each BCP review
  • Collaborate with Technology senior leaders and team leads to review and maintain the IT Disaster Recovery Management Plan and system recovery plans
  • Coordinate the annual Disaster Recovery exercises, working in collaboration with Technology leads and business units
  • Consolidate list of critical systems and applications for IT disaster recovery and for MAS reporting purposes following each BIA exercise, and work with the latter to ensure technology recovery capabilities are aligned with business RTOs/RPOs
     

2. Conduct BCM training and exercises for staff

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Arrange to conduct focus BCM training to Department BCP Officers, Heads of Departments or new staff as and when required
  • Conduct tabletop walkthrough and/or simulation exercises to verify the feasibility of business units’ BCPs and the corresponding RTOs/RPOs
  • Coordinate the organization’s participation in industry-wide exercises, including those conducted by MAS, ABS and LIA

 

3. Assist Head of BCM in preparing for management updates and managing audit responses

Specific Responsibilities:
 

  • Facilitate all logistical arrangements for the Business Continuity Management Committee (BCMC) meetings, including the following:
    • Sending meeting invites to committee members
    • Preparing and disseminating meeting agenda and presentation material
    • Post-preparation of meeting minutes
  • Prepare inputs for annual BCM attestation to BCMC and Board of Directors
  • Compile draft responses and documented evidences to respond to internal, external and regulatory audits on BCM matters
  • Work with relevant business units to follow up on audit observations and ensure that audit items are closed in a timely manner

     

4. Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirements

 

Key Requirements
 

  • Education – A good university degree in Computing or Engineering preferred
  • Experience – At least 4 years of relevant experience in coordinating or assisting to coordinate BCM and DR programmes in financial institutions
  • Certifications/licenses – Professional qualification in business continuity from bodies such as DRI or BCI
  • Special skills
