This is an experienced Agile BA role. We have a developing agile capability that’s looking to take things to the next level so this is an opportunity to bring your experience and ideas to help us level up! It’s also a possible opportunity to become a part of the AIA team.

This role will be working within one of our agile delivery teams and is responsible for the analysis activities of a cross-functional Agile delivery team, helping ensure optimum delivery is achieved. You will also be asked to be an agile advocate in our organisation, helping coach and guide your team and stakeholders to greater agility.

This role will be required to work with internal teams as well as partners and vendors to ensure consistency and quality of delivery.

Location of role: Based at AIA Head Office – 509 St Kilda Road, Melbourne 3004

This is the kind of people we are looking for:

  • You will be a mid to senior level BA, who has worked on several agile projects over the past 4-8 years. 
  • You are quick off the mark, and you have the skills and tools that enable your fast learning. 
  • You understand that interacting with people is one of the biggest parts of your day, and you build good relationships easily, with people in varying levels of seniority and functions within an organization.
  • You’re passionate about agile and can bring great experience in helping teams become better agile practitioners.
  • You have a high degree of self awareness, we know you won’t be perfect, we just need you to know it as well!
  • You have excellent communications skills, we need you to be able to communicate both written and verbally with all personality types and different roles to successfully capture requirements and deliver change that supports the business’ strategy.
  • You are successful in building strong partnerships between the delivery teams and the Business stakeholders.

We would also like you to have:

  • Experience facilitating the business discussion to create a clear articulation of the product vision, the expected value for business and customer, and to produce the product definition.
  • Demonstrable experience in decomposing a product definition into a backlog of Epics and User Stories.  Being able to translate a product definition into stories that a team can estimate for and derive a good understanding of how to build.
  • A thorough understanding of Agile and the Scrum approach to achieving agility. Good experience with the Sprint planning, Retrospective, Backlog Refinement and Sprint demonstration ceremonies.
  • Experience working with a Product Owners (with varying degrees of Agile experience), a Scrum Master/Iteration Manager, and understanding what is that healthy sharing of responsibilities between these roles.
  • The confidence and capability to converse with architects, tech leads and the developers.  You are not intimidated by the technical conversation, even though you do not need to be responsible for technical choices or the technical direction being followed.
  • An in depth knowledge of one or more Agile frameworks as acquired through formal certification and practical experience
  • Track record of being a key proactive promoter of best practices and a quality mindset.
  • Recognised Industry and Agile qualifications.
