Job Summary

  • Manage and / or support, as relevant, the assessment and execution of all material and / or strategically important Corporate Transactions (M&A, traditional partnerships, non-traditional investments and partnerships) by working in close collaboration with Group Office functions, BUs and external advisors
  • Support the systematic focused proactive identification and pursuit of traditional and non-traditional investments (including M&A) and partnerships that are material and / or strategically important to the Group (“Target Opportunities”)

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and / or support the overall Corporate Transactions process by engaging and working in partnership with the senior stakeholders in the relevant Group Office functions, BUs and external advisors:
    − Support the collaborative identification, evaluation and review of a focused list of Target Opportunities
    − Assist in the development of strategic pursuit plans that optimise AIA’s chances to successfully execute the Target Opportunities on attractive, to AIA, commercial outcomes
    − Support the establishment and management of impactful relationship development plans in a coordinated effort considering both internal resources and external / advisor resources / influencers
    − Coordinate the development of business assessments of Target Opportunities, and compelling partnership and business propositions
    − Participate in management workshops and meetings with potential business partners and counterparties
    − Manage the development and review of workshop materials and management presentations
    − Assist in the preparation and / or review of transaction documents, including due diligence assessments, management Q&As, information request lists, offer letters, legal documentation, separation & integration assessments

  • Manage the development of critical strategic market assessments on key areas of focus that could accelerate and / or further diversify our growth

  • Coordinate the development of best practice tools and processes to support the development of compelling partnership and business propositions with the relevant next-gen value propositions for potential M&A / partnership distribution transactions

  • Support the Corporate Transaction team’s overall R&D efforts to identify new partnership trends, services and products

  • Assist other teams across the Group Office and BUs, as required, to assess and execute other strategically important projects and growth initiatives in accordance with the above responsibilities

 

Requirements

  • University graduate with an excellent academic record
  • At least 7 to 10 years of industry experience in financial services consulting or investment banking
  • Experience in major Asian markets, with a strong understanding of financial services across various dynamic environments and cultures in Asia
  • Sound understanding of insurance related business and financial metrics
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with an innovative and strategic mindset
  • Results-oriented with a proven track record in driving and achieving results
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills
  • Independent and proactive mentality
  • Strong work ethic with a positive outlook
  • Effective presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
