Benefits to joining FLP:

The AIA FLP experience centers on learning the life insurance cycle by rotating through a selection of functions to build foundational excellence and drive strategic initiatives.  This real-time, experiential learning is supported by mentoring from both subject matter experts and senior leaders.  In addition, the FLP will be working with a reputable executive coach and her team to uplift their leadership capabilities.  The experiential learning also stretches beyond Hong Kong with opportunities to complete, if performance criteria are met, a rotation both in the Group Office and in an AIA entity abroad.  After successful completion of FLP, he/she will be placed in a meaningful full-time role with promotion possibilities.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Build knowledge on the life insurance cycle: Handle claims management and underwriting duties.  Receive expertise in these areas to be placed in our various service hubs to interface with front-line (i.e. distribution channels, customers) and  internal (i.e. employees from other departments) clients
  • Acquire client-facing business acumen: Support a business channel (i.e. Partnership Distribution, Agency Business Development, High Net Worth) in both daily initiatives and strategic projects to win in the marketplace
  • Gain support function knowledge: Venture into a mixture of Business Strategy & Marketing, Human Resources, Finance and Risk/Compliance to gain tangible knowledge to support business growth
  • Participate in cross-functional projects: Support enterprise-wide projects to help AIA win in the marketplace
  • Attain relevant accreditations as required by both your business rotation and HR FLP program managers


Job Requirements:

  • At least 2 years’ work experience.  Insurance, financial, multi-national corporation experience is an asset
  • Master’s Degree in any-related field
  • Excellent command of spoken / written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Strong fluency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Capable interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
  • Great collaborative skills with an eye to customer centricity
  • Self-motivated to take on challenges and capable to work under ambiguity and pressure
  • Innovative and unafraid to challenge the status quo
  • Intellectual curiosity to constantly learn new things and comfortable with asking probing questions
  • Able to relocate to another Asian locale for a duration of 1-3 months
